It was with a modest investment of Rs 5000 that the brothers began their poultry business in 1984.

The first poultry farm of the family was located in Udumalaipettai, about 72 kilometres away from Coimbatore.

It has taken them four decades to build the largest poultry business in India, which has a turnover of Rs 12000 crores annually.

Their company, Suguna Foods, works with more than 40000 farmers from over 15000 villages located in 18 states all over the country.

B Soundararajan is the chairman of the giant company. While his son Vignesh is the managing director of the firm.

In terms of revenue, Suguna Foods gets the majority of its income from the southern and eastern parts of the country.

The company is the market leader in broiler chickens and eggs within the poultry sector.

Soundararajan started growing vegetables as soon as he finished school.

The business venture didn't turn out well for him, so he decided to work for an agriculture pump company in Hyderabad after he failed to make a profit from it. Later on, he returned to his brother's business in order to work with him.
